New friend Scott Hawthorn’s cabin was recently featured in that aforementioned silent megaphone of all things simple and rustic, freecabinporn.com:

Wood-burning sauna and Snorkel tub in Naramata, BC, Canada. It’s surrounded by a five acre organic orchard of cherries, apples, pears and apricots called Picker Shack.

While I wouldn’t call this exactly simple or rustic, it is idyllic, conjuring warm memories of the outdoor onsens of Japan. My favourite was one in Nagano where the steam from the big bath we shared bore a hole through the six-foot cover of snow, offering a white-walled lens to focus our gaze on the magnificent clear night’s sky above. Scott’s tub, pictured here, looks just as cosy.

I wonder what kind of flowers those are planted along the perimeter of the cinderblock wall… roses?
