What happen when the snows melt, the glaciers recede and the rivers dry up? What happens when you go to turn your tap, or draw from your well, or bring your jerry can down to the spring?
Your mouth thirsty, stomach groaning, you pull out your pocket Internet and you ask, “why, Internet, why is there no water where once there was plenty?”
But all you get back is this gif: the digital mocking of a soulless vessel into which you’d once invested so much time, given so much of your life - so much so it distracted you. From the acid oceans and the pine stripped mountains. From the droughts and the floods. From the robins roosting in the Arctic.
It all happened so fast.
And now all you have to show for it is this filling and refilling. The ghost of life. Boo.
